Our 1st cache find attempt!
We set out to find GC270QR. Having just got a new phone and geocaching app we put use to the technology and decided to join in the fun.
Having found a new footpath down the side of the golf course entrance we took the footpath into the woods & down towards the river.
We eventually got within 10 metres of the cache but couldnt find it. Apparently it was around 20 metres from the main path, in line with a corner post & at waist height. Surely not that hard to find!!
After going back to basics & using the old stride per meter technique we scoured the location at waist height. I finally managed to find it only to be told by Linz that she'd already found it, but didnt think it was that cos I mentioned it could be hanging from the tree!!
Anyway we opened it up and how amateur of us...we didnt have a pen to fill in the cache log. We'l be back to fill it in.
